ServerVerify

Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

ServerVerify is a free platform where users can review, benchmark, and compare VPS, dedicated, and cloud hosting providers. It helps individuals and businesses make informed decisions based on real-world performance data and community feedback.
Yes! You can register, submit benchmarks, leave reviews, and browse provider information completely free of charge.
Anyone with a VPS, dedicated server, or cloud instance can run a benchmark and submit the results to help others assess that provider's performance.

Benchmarking

Simply log in to your ServerVerify account, click on “Run Benchmark,” and follow the instructions to execute the script on your server. Results are uploaded automatically once complete.
Our benchmarks typically include CPU performance, disk I/O, memory speed, and network throughput.
Yes! You can filter benchmarks by provider, location, server type, and more to find data relevant to your needs.
The ServerVerify Value Index measures how much performance you get for your money. It’s calculated by dividing a server’s benchmark score by its monthly price to create a "Value Score".

This helps users find hosting providers that deliver strong performance at reasonable cost. Only benchmarks that include valid price data are included in the Value Index.

User Accounts & Submissions

You can browse public content without an account, but you'll need to register to submit benchmarks, leave reviews, or interact with the community.
Yes. Once logged in, you can manage your submissions from your profile page.
Yes. We encourage users to leave honest reviews based on their experience, even if they haven't submitted a benchmark.

Hosting Providers

You can add a hosting provider to ServerVerify in a few easy ways:

  1. Search and Create: Type the provider's name in the search box at the top right of the site. If it doesn't appear, click “No Match Found. Create a Hosting Provider.”
  2. From Your Account: Log into ServerVerify, click your profile picture in the top right, select “Providers”, then click the green “+ Add A Provider” button.
  3. Contact Form: You can also request a provider be added by using our contact form at Contact page
  4. Email Us: Send an email with the provider's details to [email protected]
Yes. Verified providers can claim their profiles and respond publicly to reviews or clarify benchmark results.

ServerVerify Score

The ServerVerify Score is a composite performance rating generated from the results of a YABS (Yet-Another-Bench-Script) benchmark. It combines three main performance categories:

  1. CPU Performance - Measured using Geekbench single-core and multi-core scores.
  2. Disk Performance - Measured using fio read/write throughput across multiple block sizes.
  3. Network Performance - Measured using iperf3 send and receive speeds to multiple global test servers.

Each category is normalized to a common scale, weighted according to its importance, and combined into a single overall score. The result is an objective, data-driven measure of a server’s real-world capabilities. The score is not capped, so faster hardware naturally produces higher numbers, making it easy to compare servers across different generations, providers, and price points.

If a benchmark is not completed, for example if the user terminates the YABS test early or the Geekbench CPU test fails to run, the missing data will appear as “N/A” on ServerVerify.

To make the results easier to interpret at a glance, every ServerVerify Score is paired with an A-F letter grade. This grading system allows users to quickly gauge overall performance relative to the thousands of verified benchmarks in our database:

  • A Grade (Excellent): Top-tier performance. Among the fastest, most optimized servers tested.
  • B Grade (Good): Strong results that exceed market averages and deliver reliable performance.
  • C Grade (Average): Mid-range performance typical for standard hosting environments.
  • D Grade (Below Average): Noticeably weaker results that may indicate resource or configuration issues.
  • F Grade (Poor): Substandard performance that fails to meet baseline expectations.

The A-F grading system is designed to make the ServerVerify Score instantly meaningful, even for non-technical users, while still providing the option to explore full benchmark details, underlying test data, and percentile comparisons for deeper insight.
